Whether the weather

We were expecting snow overnight and it came, but only in flurries. The ground stayed green and you'd be more than hard-pressed to build a snowman this morning. Still, the day's not far through and the skies are still snow-cloud grey so there's still a chance. The apricot logs I cut last season and cured til they were hard and bone dry are throwing out tremendous heat and our lounge is the perfect space for...lounging, and writing articles for any gardening magazine a blogger might write for. I'm cobbling together a piece on 'the most irritating bird in the world - the Guinea fowl'. If I could reach out my scrawny arms far enough, I 'ring their nexts' as one of my students used to say.

It's 'snailing', or snow hailing, quite well up here. White and frequent. "Did you see that snail?".

Burning apricot logs?! Premier tool handle wood that.

Hmmm... I knew I shouldn't have been so cavalier with the apricot but I've plenty more and they were the gnarliest bits. I'll review my plans. It's an amazing colour and dense!
You're lucky to have snail.
Slug is just awful!

Maybe more to your taste, apparently apricot also makes great woodwind instruments!

I'll probably whittle up a bassoon this evening Nick.
