I'm no statistician so if you are, perhaps you could tell me if this graph, copied from The Standard, is one we should be very worried by?

If dairy prices are plunging, that great news for the Waituna lagoon and other water bodies. So I'm not worried. :) Imagine if New Zealand farms were not moncultures overloading all the natural systems. We might be one day 100% pure.
Imagine! We'll never be 100% - some of the damage we've done is irreparable but that's no reason to give the mission any less than 100% effort. I'd settle for 90.
All farms should be mixed farms. If you put all eggs in one basket you are either greedy or foolish. That is the last thing I remember my gt Grandad told me. He died when I was 8 and I have always remembered his last words as the old folk passing on their wisdom to the young.
YES we should be worried this graph doesn't surprise me Robert with the NZ dollar rising like it is at present due to the global economic problems. It will affect our exports as the rising dollar makes our products very expensive overseas.
Yes to deter the proliferation of dairy ie the German purchases and intentions to develop even larger dairy holdings.
BUT on the negative side a down turn in exports will have nasty effect on our exporters, and with it could increase unemployment dramatically this will not be good for NZ.

Jonesy, farmers might even increase the amount of cows per farm to make up for the plunging dairy product prices ;)
That'd be the approach I'd expect dutchie. Same as they'd do if the price was rising! The Bluegreens need to get off their arses and do something :-)
