She certainly followed a spectacular downward trajectory, seemingly without regret and finally (yesterday) hit rock-bottom. The woman could sing. Thrilling voice and superbly timed and able to delay a note subtly, such that it had you hungering for her to sing it! Poor Amy, dead and gone.
I think she had her glorious times Mark - clearly a long and balanced life was not for her. The music she might have written and performed is a loss also.
Suz - the scrawnification wasn't so nice to watch, though for a while there she was doing great fashion and style. Guess she didn't know when to/couldn't stop.
As far as I'm concerned last night, both sides of the political divide delved into the Norwegian tragedy to blacken their foes. Seriously uncool whatever your out-look. (Altho' thinking the Left started the drama).
Inv..as for Amy, I wish I believed as you do, that she's in a better place. Here's hoping.
Suz - we were away at my son's house for dinner and playing Wii. The roads got whiter and whiter as the night wore on so the drive home was cautiously taken. The Norwegian tragedy is very sad indeed. I have no issue with what John Key or Phil Goff said or didn't say. I'm interested to know who the killer was, what drove him to do what he did and what it means on a global scale - that is, how should we respond here in New Zealand. His actions seemed to me to be ideologically driven. Claims that he was 'evil' or 'insane' were made by various commenters in order to close down discussion of those matters and I found that approach to be despicable, hence my retreat. No matter. There are those who are not frightened to discuss openly those issues and I am listening to them in order to learn what I need to know.

Sad, but predictable.
She had everything, except the one thing that probably would have saved her life - rock bottom.
Too many chances can be a very bad thing.

Maybe she should'a gone to rehab?
Well her life was a burden I've no doubt - sometimes death comes as a mercy
Sadly, another member admitted to the 27 Club.
My heart goes out to her parents..it's gotta be horrific watching your child self-destruct to such an inevitable end.
Maybe Shane, but she said, no, no, no.

I can't reach Inv from here any more...have you split up? ;)
He's in disgrace.
I cried.....so disappointed :(
May I respectfully ask why? And Ele?
OK..no answer forthcoming..my only question is who gets custody of self-righteousness?
@ Suz; Robert's welcome back any time, as he well knows; all I did was suggest that his time might have been more productively spent last night.
As for Amy Winehouse; another tortured genius perishes too soon
