Vampires and Dr Who
Global Village has an astonishing programme playing, about the remora and how it is used by fishermen to catch sharks and rays. 'Domesticated' remora, secured with nylon line to the fishing boat, swim down through the water until they have located a stingray or shark, then attach themselves to the fish by means of their 'sucker pad'. The fishermen feel the line tauten, haul the vampire-ish remora with it's victim attached back to the surface, spear the prey then scoop the remora into a basin inside the boat, then head for shore.
Astonishing!
Now it's Doctor Who.
Equally astonishing!
This sort of wide-eyed, guilt-free television-watching is what happens when wives swan off to Wellington!
I wonder what's on after the Good Doctor?
