Strings attached

Anyone remember this book from their early years?
I loved it when I was at primary school. This guy was obsessed with string and boundlessly creative with it.
I found it at the big book sale in town yesterday. I also bought 'serious' books:
'A colour guide to flowering plants', 'Vines under glass', Mushroom pocket field guide' etc. but 'A big ball of string' was the one that gave me the most pleasure to find.
Dreadful text though, on reflection:

"And my daddy had string.
Look what a lot!
Did he give ME some of it?
He did NOT.
"That is not a toy!
Put it down!"
Said Dad.
And  - boy, oh, boy!
Was
