Shooting into the sun

They say you shouldn't and I can see the difficulty, but the morning sun is flaring up the waters of the estuary and it looks great from my veranda, so here's my attempt to capture the moment.

Okay!

In general you should take pictures of people with the sun behind you, (so their faces aren't in shadows) but there are no hard and fast rules otherwise.

When shooting into the sun it is often important to make careful adjustments when framing the picture to avoid lens flare, or to get the flare where you want it.

In your picture here I can see an opportunity to take a telephoto pic of the water reflection between the cabbage trees, it could make a nice silhouette, it depends on how far your camera can reach though.

I did aim between the trees Shunda - I'll show you the results tomorrow morning, for now, it's time to go Down the Rabbit Hole!
(Just so you don't wildly misinterpret that, its' my son's 'Alice' themed house-warming party tonight :-)
