shakinghead - John Key dubbed himself the 'Smiling Assassin', because of his reputation for firing people 'with a smile'. Whether that information seems 'throw-away' to you, I don't know, but to me it's telling. This 'epithet' was commonly known leading up to the last election and yet people voted for the Smiling Assassin in droves. Why didn't they pause to reflect on his title, do you think?
