A glimpse of the future

National claims there are 170,000 jobs on their way for New Zealanders as a result of their policies.
Here's a look at some of the jobs John Key and his aspirational MPs have in mind.

There is nothing wrong with honest work Robert, unfortunatly that is not being offered
I see the bean spouts were the killers in Europe, despite a hurried cleanup, time to have an open season on greenies?
Just to make my intentions clear, that is said with a smile

Open season on greenies? Must be that time again, the election is approaching.
Honest work is what we all want for ourselves and our fellow New Zealanders Ray. Sadly, the Government has been woeful in stimulating work like that. Mining in particular, is a mirage so far as work is concerned. The best jobs go to foreign workers and so do the vast bulk of the profits.
That's not good thinking from National.
Those bean sprouts ... I'm keen to learn more. The sprouts themselves aren't e-coli producers - something unsuitable has been applied to them - animal manure or polluted water is my guess. Wonder where that came from?
Some are suggesting 'industrial interference'.

Well judging by the Greens voting on wastage from camper vans or rather the lack, I wouldn't really like to say what could have applied to the sprouts

The Greens position; that the tourist industry's moves to solve the problem, the provision of toilets where needed and plenty of notification to travellers of where those facilities are, the pressure applied to the rental van companies, etc..as opposed to National's 'ban and fine' solution, rushed into place for the Rugby World Cup and creating a new layer of bureaucracy and the need for Doc staff to police campers, is a good one. Nick Smith has done his best to smear the Greens for their stand and it seems to have worked very well with right-wingers.
Or have I got this wrong Ray?
(Said with a smile)
As for the sprouts, are we all to abandone them as a food source, because those of a German farm were contaminated?
No more milk drinking then - remember melamine!

Well if the Greens ever get control it will be interesting to see if they are quite as forgiving of cow manure, their public statements don't seem to suggest that.
I sure I have heard calls to ban dairying from the greens, maybe that is from the small g though

As for bean sprouts, do your own is the way to go

I don't believe they are 'being forgiving' here - they are being pragmatic and supporting the process that has the most chance of success. national is going for the quick-fix that sounds strong, but is against best advice.
Re: sprouts, your suggestion is good - they're easy to do and I've never had so much as a tummy-rumble as a result of sprouting my own.

It is rather ironic the so called 'anti nanny state' govt being anti camping... eh
