The first is of a section of tree, the 'twigs', only they're the strangest twigs I've ever seen. I have no idea what this tree is and would very much like to know its name. It grows in a park in Blenheim, if that's any help. I swiped a sample as I passed through recently.
The second image is more mundane, but puzzling perhaps.

Kinda. Didn't leave the 'dehumidifying sachets' in the bottles.

It's really puzzling me.
I have seen a few citrus trees grow rogue and end up looking like that tree.

It would be impossible to pick fruit from this particular tree - it was well armed!
This one had tiny un-citrusy flowers and was a large, single trunked tree.
Very odd.
