Ha!, Key is not a radical Robert, why do you think the ACTards are so annoyed with him?
Sad fact is, we are lucky to have Key as leader of national, anyone else would have taken a far more right wing approach and used up some of that abundant political capital.
Phil Goffs speech was just nonsense today, and Key destroyed him. Even Russell gave Goff a serve
Shunda - I've not described Key as 'radical' - I'm saying that his appeal to many people is similar to that of a father or a saviour. The adoration afforded to him is breathless and uncritical, despite his obvious failings, apparent to those who are not so enamoured. Some people are suckers for the 'big brother' effect, and some aren't. As to us 'being lucky' to have Key at the head of National, I'd say that if we were to look at National 'raw' and critically assess what they are doing, we'd never have voted them in. Key has beguiled enough New Zealanders, including yourself, to allow the party to engineer a very unhealthy, unbalanced programme of exploitation of New Zealanders to our great disadvantage. Wake up Shunda!
He sounded to me to be only just on top of any issue, as if he was winging each one. I think that it is his lack of depth as a politician which causes this, plus a lack of "formation" more generally.

drunk on power and ego?
Nah.
Drunk on power and ego is an every-day thing for key. This was different. In fact, I don't say he was drunk, I say he looked like a drunk.
When? I watched it but didn't see the 'drunk' Key.
Were you drunk Shunda?
He was clearly looking like a drunk!
Todd on Frogblog (independently) noticed it too, though he put it down to medication.
I think you chaps are dreaming of Muldoon.
And Key is sadly much more boring and harder to hate!
You're enamoured Shunda - there's no shame in that. It's the 'big daddy' syndrome.

Wake up Shunda!
So you are basically saying JK is a witch and I am bewitched!!
Burn da witch!!
This is a break-through moment for you Shunda!
Try to maintain that clarity!
