That's the weakest argument I've ever heard and nothing more than an attempt to silence or disable those who feel passionately about any environmental issue. I hear the same said to Green candidates at public meetings, 'Did you come by bike?" or "You're a hypocrite for arriving here by car". What shallow nonsense. The greenies should counter 'your' lot by saying, "How have you got the cheek to live in the very environment you are trashing?"

Sounds like this aging farmer has upset you a little RG. sorry about that. Tongue was lightly pressed against the cheek when that was written. Fact is though I'm not that impressed with Greenpeace. I find more to admire in Russel Norman (as per my comment on your post re his visit to the Lagoon. Not sure if I can vote for him though. His green credentials may be impecable but I'm not so keen on the tinge of red

FBB - I was fresh from the Council Chamber when I responded to your comment, and itching for a fight I guess. In retrospect, I appreciate your kinda-pro-Russel comment and have settled down over the Greenpeace jibe. Fair enough that you don't like their methods. I'm always inclined to support little guys standing up to big guys and Giant Brazillians (Socialist lot, those State-owned drillers, eh!) .v. greenies in inflatables are a classic David and Goliath in my eyes. Re-Russel, he was very well received by the scientists, Iwi, farmers and councillors at the day-long event (2 'meets' and the on-site paddle and discussion, tv and radio interview). He's an excellent listener and decisive in response. Not afraid to speak his mind, even when it gets back's up.
