"State-owned power companies will be "lost forever" if they are sold to private buyers, Labour leader Phil Goff says.
Launching the party's "Say No to Asset Sales" campaign in Auckland last night, Mr Goff attacked National for the proposed part-sale of Mighty River Power, Meridian, Genesis and Solid Energy."
Labour openly opposing National's asset sale plans?

Rich to say by a leader who have got some assets he is despirate to get rid of
Agreed Dutchie - they're one as bad as the other, but in this instance, I support what Goff says.
What Roger Douglas did in the 80s is no excuse for selling energy SOEs today and rising power prices, or selling SOE Solid Energy to Chinese mining companies, so they can dig up Southland and Otago farm or conservation land.
Lignite Bill and Browncoal Brownlee, (and the Salesman) have a lot to answer for...
They sound a dodgy crew - how on earth did we let them get to where they are?
Must make amends.
