Ellerslie is off, you'll already know. I went last year and did my bit in the speakers tent. This year, the tents housed refugees from the quake and they probably weren't at all interested in hearing about plants. Here are a couple of photos of this years flower show ... from the brochure that arrived today in the pages of the March edition of the New Zealand Gardener. One shows the 'brass band on bikes' that I enjoyed so much in 2010 and the other, the map that was to help visitors find their way around.

Hold one in Riverton?
Call it a harvest festival.
Can we have a band on bikes?
Perhaps a whistler and someone on a uni?
I went to a harvest/ music festival in the USA a few years ago.
Jesus freaks everywhere!!
Harvesting souls?
It was actually pretty good for a churchy kind of thing, The musicians were to a very high standard with many styles represented and a very strong bluegrass element,it was North Carolina after all.
They were certainly not your run of the mill American God botherers.
(the other Christians accused them of being hippies, witches, and mystics!)
Was there a pond there, and a dunking stool?
There must have been a dunking stool!
