As I was biking down to the town this morning, I looked up as I passed the Aparima Hotel, which overlooks the estuary, facing north into the blazing Southland sun, to see a second-storey window filled with leaves! I know what you're thinkng and yes, they were tomatoes!
I took this shot, checked with the delightful publicans that it was fine to publish and to mention how well the tomatoes had grown in that sunny room, heated from below by the warmth of the hospitality and bonhomie in the pool bar beneath.
Good use of space!

Personally, I can think of an equally good use of that sunny space that could reap many a good time Phil Ure style; not that I'm dissing tomatoes!
Phil Ure style?
You want to set up a computer at that window nfor day-long blogging, a seat for his dogs and a stove for some vegan cooking?
Nice vision Suz.
Phil'd be proud!
Phil intrigues me..tho' as an ardent SPCA supporter, I do worry for his canine buddies' diet...what did ya feed Sparky?
I'm also a supporter of legalising cannabis...hah..don't you be boxing in us Inv2 admirers! ;-)
Good for you Suz! I suspect Inv2's pro-cannabis also, in the same way the Peter Dunne (an ex-dope smoker btw) is.
Phil's dogs (I've met them) are the healthiest hounds I've ever seen! They glowed good health and so did Phil. He's a gentle soul, kanohi ki te kanohi.
Sparky was a waste disposal unit and ate everything - his greatest feat was the carcase of a deer he'd dragged home from the neighbours.
Can't quite picture Inv, PDM, Gravedodger etc cross-legged around a bong..good to hear Phil and dogs are healthy specimens..I fear the lad is misunderstood.
