One scoop or two?

No, no more about sweet icecream! I'm talking ponds here. We began to hand dig our pond on the new section but discovered that a previous owner had laid down a bed of shattered rock over top of the loam so that he could drive his truck on it without sinking. This made digging by hand (or rather, shovel) very difficult, so we called in the big boy, or rather the mini-dig and Daniel who worked like a dervish, scraping off the surface layer of rock and exposing the soil to our hand tools.
While he worked, I stood about uselessly and took photos. Here's one.

Too queasy to talk about sweet ice-cream? Why put the post up?

Too queasy to talk about Judith Collins? Why put the post up?

I'm not queasy about either Suz - tongue in cheek more.
If you have a question, comment or challenge over either, fire away!

"fire away"..very telling of your desire to rark up people just for the hell of it is it?..so you can sit and have a giggle? I dunno, you tell me, "tongue in cheek" seems to be your answer to a lot what of what you blog. But I guess as just a dumb right-winger, although one with green hues, I have no SOH, nor do I understand the subtleties of your oh so superior intellect? Shame on me I guess.

"Rark" - that's a great word Suz.
I certainly did enjoy that kind of thing on Inv2 and Ele's blog but not for the 'hell' of it - always to try to present a point of view that I believed those bloggers couldn't see. Here, I'm not intending to rark up my own readers, gentle and valued souls that they are, though if they'd like to challenge my statements I welcome their efforts!
I didn't get much of that on my 'national emergency' post, just attack without reason - not much fun, hence my reluctance to post provocatively, though the 'frozen treats' post seems to be a little challenging for some :-)

"rark": In Antipodean slang: to confront, oppose, reprimand or provoke.

As a reader of your blog, am I automatically a "gentle and valued soul"? Would love to think so but fear I am not, regardless that I am almost screaming out to be converted.

Have never been able to understand why you challenge INV2, yet don't appear to blog on far more intolerant right-wing sites that surely, offend your sensibilities as they do mine, which is saying something?

Dear Suz - valued and gentle soul, thank you for your comments and questions.
Inv2 has the good grace to at least try to understand my point of view. Other less tolerant sites have 'requested that I not return' to question their claims. Inv2 has not. There is hope for him, though several of his hot-headed followers are not able to engage without abusiveness, sadly. It's party Inv2's fault, he inflames them with crime-porn, key-love and intolerance :-)
I've left Inv2 and his cretinous followers (that's a joke right there Suz) to their own devices and am now challenging Adam @ Inquiring Mind, for a change of scenery. You might enjoy that debate, around Helen Clark's presence in Chch.

I dream of having a pond.
You should leave an island and grow a bonsai tree on it.

robertguyton said...

Bonsai?
Have you a bonsai seed?
There will be an island and on that island a tree and on that tree a branch and on that branch a twig and on that twig a bug and on that bug etc...
Any arboreal suggestions Shunda?
I'm thinking raupo at the edges, papyrus, equisetum :-)

In the short time I've been following political blogs, I find myself returning to KS, not because I'm religious, as I'm not, but because I've come to regard Inv2 as a voice that echoes how I feel to a degree. You Robert, also eloquently express certain statements that I wholeheartedly agree with. I find it very sad that you feel you can no longer blog on his site, due to "his hot-headed followers" not being able to engage without abusiveness..

"He inflames them with his crime-porn, key-love and intolerance".

I disagree, and would have hoped you wouldn't have given up so easily.

Still plenty of hard labour

I have two strong sons.

I would help but I fear you would be exploiting me and that would not be meaningful labour.

I'll leave a spade lying out there Shunda and promise not to look. If you happen to shift a metre or two of clay, then it'll not really be work will it.
You've got form I know. Wouldn't be the first Riverton soil you've turned.
