Bugfest

Off to the Catlins today, armed with apiaceae and advice to gardeners wanting to attract insects to their gardens.
Maybe I'll meet wildcrafty there?

I wish I was in the Catlins!! I've got a blogpost in me somewhere about wild carrot and bugs, plus one on a mystery umbel. Maybe they will get out one of these days.

Sorry for the oversight David!
You will know Brian Patrick?
His talk on moths and butterflies was great fun and pitched just right for the day's bug-enthusiasts.
He's coming down to Riverton in April and I've invited him to visit our bug haven.
Our Harvest Festival in March features bugs big-time btw - only they're the sort made from vegetables and fruits. We had an ugly-bug ball one time and that was pretty funny. When our children were young we went to a similar fancy dress event at Otatara - I swathed myself in black pvc and went as a leech and one of my boys was a six-legged stick insect - he leaned against things and leaned against things and rocked slowly - it was very funny.
