Don't ya hate being collared by some greenie with a clipboard as you make your purposeful way through the city streets?
I don't. I quite like the chance to find out how much depth there is to their view of the world and their place in it - poor souls!
Today I was intercepted in Esk Street and the energetic young man turned out to have interests in common with mine. At least his father did :-)Dad's Head Landscape Gardener at Buckfast Abbey in Southgate, Britain and cares for old apple trees, so we had plenty to talk about and emails to swap. His mate, busy cornering other harmless passers-by like myself, was revealed to be an ardent fan of permaculture and intends to swing by our garden tonight for a look at our forest garden.
We didn't get to talk about whales at all but I could see that the would care for them.

Maybe clipboards are the wrong tool for the job compared to, say, harpoons.
