Well there's some compost to help grow my changing world view!.

What a well written article, it just makes sense.

I read the Archdruid regularly Shunda. If you 'back-read' his last 10 posts, I think you'd be very interested. He attracts a huge following and many of them are sharp-as.

You may be able to help me with something Robert. Yesterday I was talking to the guy I mentioned a few weeks ago that is starting 'transition towns' in Hokitika. He had just been up to the green party sustainability conference in Wellington. I told him we were going on a trip to learn a bit about permaculture and he suggested a book, but I can't remember what it was. All I remember is he said it was written by an Australian guy and was the "bible" on the subject. Do you have any idea which book that may be? I don't think it was the one you reviewed.

That'll be Bill Mollison's 'Permaculture' - we have it here but it's a tome.
There are better intro from Rosemary Morrow called 'Earth Users Guide' which is very readable. Graham Bell's 'Permaculture Way' is popular also.
Our Environment Centre library has them all plus a few.
