Calling their bluff at Motupohue
Off to Greenhills, Omaui and Bluff today with two missions in mind.
The first, to interview the two can't-yet-be-named finalists for Southland Gardener of the Year and take flattering photos of them for NZGardener magazine. I'm looking foward to seeing their garden about which I've already heard a lot.
I'll clamber aboard my bike'n'trailer unit and head out and around the streets of Bluff after that and if I'm able, take a spin around the wharves, campaigning as hard as I can. I'll try to look tough!
I've two home-built glasshouses to visit and photograph while I'm there and a oyster-mushroom farm to check out. What a day and the weather is primo! Not a cloud in the sky. Southland has been the lucky country this winter so far as the weather has been concerned - balmy as! There's snow predicted for the east coast of the South Island on Friday and Saturday reminding us that it's lambing time for the farmers (or more correctly, for the ewes).
