Invisible MPs
L K Franklin joins the growing chorus of Southlanders who haven't laid eyes on their National Party MPs for sometime, blue-rinse MPs who are notable for their ringing silence over the issue of neurosurgery. This is far from the first letter to the Times calling for something, anything, from English and Roy on this and other issues that affect Southlanders and suggesting that the General Election would be a good time to send them a message about our thoughts on shy and retiring representatives.
Where are our elected Southland MPs at the moment with the debate on the Dunedin neurosurgery?
What have they actually said about the issue to stand up for the province?
Or have they crawled back into their shells, as they seem to do as with past events that affect all of us as a whole?
If their voices cannot be heard more in the defence for the surgery, then let them hear our voices and note these national henchmen (who have their own cause) out of office at the next elections.
Treat them with the distain they deserve, to wake up their ideas.
L K Franklin, Invercargill

It's 'disdain' isn't it? What we should be treating them with.
