UnNatural Dairy and Dodgy Deals.

“Natural Dairy’s attempt to buy up Crafar Farms is the most contentious overseas purchase of New Zealand land in the last few years."

Thus The Green Co-leader Dr Russel Norman frames the debate over conflict of interest, corrupt practice or whatever shady business it is that seems to be going down behind the Crafar Farms sales.

“It now appears that a lawyer working on behalf of Natural Dairy is also
advising the Government and privately meeting with Bill English."
Russel Norman seems to have grave concers over Bill English's grasp of the processes behind the impending sale and the rewriting the Overseas Investment Act - at least, that's his 'best scenario' interpretation.
The whole Crafar/"Natural" Dairy saga smells of sour milk and cow sh*t to me.
Norman's closing statement seems to fit the mood of the times perfectly.
"“Bill English actions in keeping secret his meeting with the TRG and Treasury’s advice that the TRG leave no paper trail is completely at odds with an open democracy."

The Government’s Technical Reference Group - sorry Bioneer.
This group advises the Government on, in this instance, changes to the rules for foreign ownership.
Tricky having a lawyer sitting there and advising the Chinese company wishing to buy the Crafar farms, don't you think?
