Telling the truth (are politicians, including the PM, exempt?)

"A politician who does not twist statistics to suit his or her argument is not by definition a politician.

John Key's big attraction, however, has stemmed from being seen to be not indulging in such behaviour.
But yesterday, the Prime Minister revealed he is is as capable of Machiavellian manipulation of the figures as the rest of the pack."

Should we admire our politicians, national or regional, when they mislead us, or should we hold them to account and make our feelings about lies, 'mis-speaks' and mis-directions known to them?
I say, tell them loud and clear!

Key does lie, he's been full of lies starting with his statements of shareholdings during the election campaign. His latest lie is that the Student Loan scheme is a disaster. Full the truth, read Rob Stock's article in todays Star Sunday Times, which is a brave and perceptive rebuttal in full.

Thanks for the SST heads-up aj.
The student loan scheme is being lined up in he same way that the ACC scheme was, ready for gutting.
Key's untruths about the wage gap between us and Australia show that he lies as freely as any of the others. It's a great pity that Mr Carter's antics drew attention away from Key's untruth's so effectively.
There'll be more to come however.
