Pete Bethune has been treated leniently by the court in Japan and is coming home, wearing a suspended sentence as penance for his audacity on the high seas.
That's a whale of a relief!

Perhaps they heard whispers that if he was sentenced harshly then we would sentence any whalers who were silly enough to get caught along the same lines as in 'the Rime of the Ancient Mariner' except instead of an albatross around their neck, they would have to wear the whale they killed. Maybe.
