Then there were two!


Now we have a pair of figures standing in the estuary!
This one is three times the height of the graceful nyad that appeared last weekend and stands in deeper water, cape flared out behind him (it's a he).
According to the artist, the corrugated iron cape is to serve as a vessel for fire and will burn tomorrow night as part of the solstice celebrations.
Should be quite a spectacle!

I had heard flaming arrows were to be fired, with the best aim being rewarded by a flaming cape!!? Bummer about the vandalism. Next year though - it was still a great night!!

We're already planning an event for the near future Anna, especially given the number of people who turned up anyway, knowing that the fire-man had been chainsawed down by an embittered and misguided curmudgeon :-)
