Gold star from the Left

"Hats off to Environment Southland which seems to be providing good leadership in acknowleding the problems the dairy industry is creating/adding to for water quality."

Labour's Brendon Burns sings the praises of Environment Southland, following his visit to our region, on this site.
It's well worth reading, in light of the treatment of Environment Canterbury over water issues.
We've got them too and need to be very careful about the handling of both those and the Government.

and a little bit strange that our Medical Sector and Government have been whisper quiet on this issue. The very people WE fund to keep a look-out and take and give care....
Nice to see an MP, apart from the Greens, doing something other than mudslinging and generally being sly.

It is good to see some real contact with the issue down here Mark. Brendon is probably one of the younger MP's and not tied up with party pov's. The silence you refer to has been remarked upon often by locals here, especially those who have experienced the effects of water-borne disease and I often here stories of doctors who are willing to discuss the issue in the surgery but not beyond those walls.
You'd enjoy a visit to Southland, I've no doubt and I can assure you, there is clean water to be found here, though you'd not want to drink from the rivers.
