Southland's real gold - food from the ground!
Someone will cleverly link carrot with carat no doubt, but will they make the same connection between mining and gardening? The first is extractive and involves a finite resource, the second sustainable and produces a never ending resource that is affordable to everyone, rich or poor.
I'm putting my support to the latter.

We usually use these wee ones as 'sticks' for dips.
What did you feed that monster with?
Mine haven't done so well this year - not enough light at the start of the season. At least we don't get the carrot fly down here. Did you crowbar a hole for it to grow into? I've heard thats good.
