Technology and humans are forever bound together, there's no denying it but that doesn't mean that we have to follow the unsustainable model that we have adopted to date. The clever use of renewable materials, like the bamboo in the framing of this bicycle will mean that we can enjoy the benefits of our clever thinking without having to destroy our environment in the process.
Materials that are grown and can be composted after use must surely be the way of the future.
Think potato starch dinner plates, cellulose bags, sheep's wool insulation ... computer parts made from compressed pea-pods, who knows!
After all, who would have imagined a bicycle made from bamboo?

I love this idea. when is Riverton getting its first bamboo framed bike!?
The guy on 'Radar' who makes them said that they are more sturdy than the best man-made materials although I imagine the look would put some people off (not me!)
Anna - we have established clumps of bamboo in our garden with such projects in mind, though a bicycle might challenge my ability to successfully manufacture stuff!
Bioneer - the Radar guy bound his with muka - flax fibre and claimed it made an incredibly strong bond.
Growing the harakeke too!
