Are you looking for a speaker for your meetings? I am keen to talk to Southland audiences about a project to grow orchards of heritage apple trees throughout the district. You may have read an article about the project titled,’ Scheme Bearing Fruit’ which featured in the Southland Times in June and resulted in a wave of interest around Southland. I would like to present the project to your members and perhaps interest them in ‘Open Orchard’, as it is known.
I am an experienced speaker and have addressed audiences as diverse as NIWA scientists, University groups, Ngai Tahu youth, visiting Asian travel groups, La Leche and U3A. I can present an illustrated talk using a digital projector if you have a screen or blank wall, or an image-free talk if you wish.

Robert I heard you at the Rural Womans meeting talking about the apples and I read in the paper that you are speaking to the Herb Society on Thursday night. This is a very good idea, the old apple trees and getting the orchards back, it got me into action with the tree we have at home!
I can certainly vouch for you as an inspirational speaker Robert. Your talk at the Green Party meeting was great - your ideas and personality are catalysing.
Your blog is excellent and really demonstrates how in touch you are with the available tools for facilitating communication. I will be encouraging everyone I know to read it.
Thanks Nick. It was a great meeting, that one and members of the public were very enthusiastic about the old orchards, most of them having been brought up eating those varieties of apple. I am speaking to a farming group at Aparima next Wednesday and we will try our hands at grafting there as well. Thanks for your support Nick.
