Field mushroom time
It surely is, though I've only seen a few so far. Back in the day ... these little fellows were seen in most pastures, en mass, and collected by lucky pickers who had permission to forage (and lucky pickers who permitted themselves under the cover of early dawn). These days, farmers are applying volumes of nitrates in amounts that field mushrooms hate and refuse to fruit under. More fool the farmers. Townspeople ought to be encouraging their own pastures/lawns to pop out mushrooms, but I guess the colonies have decided that lawns are not a safe habitat, with mowers and all. How foolish we have all become.
