In the park, a sausage!
This little sliver of dog wasn't keen for me to take his photo but the woman on the other end of his leash was happy to help. Long, long spine, that little dog.

Look at those big paws, too. He was bred to solve a problem we don't have in NZ; clearly you couldn't get his attention because you didn't badger him enough.
Ha! Could a dachshund deal to a badger?
This little guy would have barely been a match for a vole, so timorous was he.
Apparently. The direct translation of dachshund is, I am lead to believe, badger dog. So, yes, I reckon he could deal to a badger, especially if he had a group of dachshund friends to help.
talking of spines reminds me of another of Rob Muldoons infamous quips when describing Bill Rowling.
He is a shiver looking for a spine to run up I think were the actual words.
Pity he wasn't still around to think of a description for Banks.
He would be the fat German sergeant in Hogans heroes. "I see nothing, I hear nothing"
