"Comrades of the Remuera Popular Front! Prepare for the next move against the blood-sucking imperialist Brown who feeds on the misery of our downtrodden masses!
This weekend: Hikoi from Epsom golf club to Epsom bridge club (ladies a plate). Bring your children, and their nannies. Wear your private school uniforms with pride. We shall overcome!"
Clever. Spot on.

Do the crime then be prepared to do the time. We need to be careful making moral judgements but there are things that are right and things that are wrong. In this case Len has failed his wife and family very publicly and the longer he perseveres as mayor the worse that humiliation will be. His time and efforts should be put to restoring their faith in him, not the publics.
I also think he has exposed himself to pressure from certain sectors such as the casino which also makes it hard to show impartiality. We need leaders we can trust and if they cant trust themselves why should we
Great foolishness has been shown by the Auckland mayor.
The over-heated opportunism from his enemies is irksome to watch and just as icky as the mayors misbehaviours and give politics a bad name, as if it didn't already have one. I'm on the lookout for admirable politicians - they can be recognised by their words and deeds, which need to match, and not interested at all in those polis who are corrupted (and they are legion). I have to say, I know a number of very fine, as yet trustworthy, politicians, locally and nationally. Generally they are those who believe that the end doesn't justify the means, and that might isn't right.
