I've been asked to be Nelson Mandela in tomorrow evening's Christmas parade in Riverton. Not "be" him exactly, more bear a giant puppet-version of his head. Jacqui and Tim will operate 'his' hands while I struggle a the bottom of the pole that holds his puppet head aloft. Should be a spectacle one way or another. Especially if the wind is blowing.

Almost worth a 5 hour trip, just to see..
I will stop right there it being the season of good will etc
Jokes about ***** will not even enter my thought process
There, did it
Amazing what thought control can do
If only I could get this picture out of my mind
Mandela was a great man, his examples of striving for equal rights and his ability to forgive, are ones we should all try to follow. A giant puppet in a Christmas parade though? I'm sure you will perform your duties with decorum Robert.
Excellent mind control skills there Ray, I have had to try hard to supress images of Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse's Mandela skits that have surfaced recently at inappropriate moments.
I'm in the dark, Ray and corokia. Still, that hasn't stopped me before.
His is not the first puppet I've held aloft in the parade - my first was a 6-metre 3-D galaxid.
