National thrashed - 26%

Poto teaches Key a lesson in Christchurch East.

A bad well-deserved result for National in Chch East with only 26% of the vote.
1. Labour wins with 61% (8,119 )
2. National 26% (3,506)
3. Greens  6.95% (926)
4. Conservative 3.65% (487)
ACT could only muster 56 votes and came 6 or 7th equal with Legalise Cannabis.

Final ACT? They have got what they want anyway with Key and will never be a political force as they cant see beyond their monthly bank statements. The bit that should worry is the vote for the conservatives. Never thought they had any cults in CHCH

Village of the Damned, they call it.
Odd that.
I'm reading The Chrysalids just now.
It's very good. I'm reminded of The Midwich Cuckoos. And Chch.
Yes, the Conservative vote - worrying not because of their potential as a support party, but because of what they are.
