It's filling out nicely and being well attended by our bees. There are dozens of seedling echiums growing in the vicininity and will next year do as these are doing, only they'll have formed a thicket. I like the 'vertical towers of flowers' aspect of them and so do the busy bees. I've also planted a swag of buddleja throughout the garden and they're making strong progress. Speaking with them yesterday, we agreed that Sir Isaac Newton had already formulated his theory on gravity before the autumn in which he watched the apple fall. It's well known in the vegetative world, apparently.

A lot of discoveries that we celebrate are merely markers of our burgeoning self-awareness, not genuine discoveries at all.
By "our" do you mean "mankind's"?
Our do you mean individually?
I'd like to think mankind's self-awareness is burgeoning.
Yeah, of course. I have a low opinion of people who use a royal we, and try to always avoid it.
"...and I try..."
I know of a 'we' user and my opinion of 'them' couldn't be much lower :-)
I hung out with some of his idols today. It was a hoot. Out for lunch at noon, back to work in time for tea. The things you find out....
One day, I may learn more...
Mr Emmerson's cartoon, which is often republished by our friend but wasn't today, hints at it. The difficulties run somewhat deeper.
