Easily!
Sweet.

The observations of an observant Southlander

Yes, they are not waving.
It is good news for those who want this government out, but please lets not get too confident. Remember counting chickens, americas cup yachting etc.
National barely won the last election, CG, and subsequently their support has dropped significantly. I accept your suggestion that they could win the next election - it is possible. However, before the next election the government must face the asset sales referendum, the criminal trial of John Banks and they must carry on the implementation of their unpopular policies such as beneficiary bashing, corporate welfare, polluting rivers, digging up the wilderness and suppressing democracy. That's quite a task. Labour and the Greens only need to do one thing, which is to always look like they are ready to govern. One problem National have is a direct result of their success at the last election. They have a big caucus, and that means a lot of MPs are going to lose their jobs at the next election. An unhappy caucus, a leader whose popularity is waning, a government in disarray, it's kind of obvious what happens next.
I'm looking forward to it.
