My feeling is the public strongly supports Jan Riddell for chair of Environment Southland.
I know I do.
The issue is one of the Council's performance. Whether the Council will enjoy smooth running under Jan Riddell's chairmanship or more of the turbulence that came with Ali Timms at the controls will be decided tomorrow by a vote in the boardroom. At this stage, the incumbent chair seems to have retained the support of those who aligned with her during the "Ruby" affair, but tomorrow will tell. If it were the public voting the result would be a foregone conclusion, in my opinion.

All well and good, but the public want to know if you're coming to our potluck! :-)
Marvellous day in Invercargill!
I should also plug our last potluck, Ashlee was a wonderful guest. He stayed two nights before heading back north, bicycle laden with bags.

He spoke of his "woofing", and how some were hard task masters indeed. I told him about some kindly folk round Riverton way.............he'll go in unsuspecting! Train him well!
I'm in negotiation on this issue. A decision will be made in the near future. My son and I become ravenous of a Friday night...
