Smiling assassin
The Department of Conservation is almost dead, strangled by John Key.
It's no wonder they call him the smiling assassin.
The throttling of funding for DOC has all but destroyed its ability to protect New Zealand's natural environment.
The Resource Management Act is next in Mr Key's sights.
The gutting of that act will enable the mining industries and urban developers to get stuck into our environment without the problem of the pesky public getting in their way.
I wonder if the people who voted for Mr Key realised just what harm he would do to New Zealand's special environment and what we would lose because of his money-focused world-view?
