Was having a look at the latest Life & Leisure & saw the article featuring the Guytons (very nice ) What a surprise to see a photo of Lord Rutherford’s old house in Richmond- we have a photo of it taken on holiday in 1981 because we thought it looked like the sort of house we would like. Great taste guys!
30+ years on and we are living in a house someone else built, it has verandas but no gables.

You too have great taste, it seems! The Wakefield/Brightwater house seemed just the thing for our world-view (family focused, modest etc.)plus that's the district in which I grew up. Verandas are good, gables too. I especially like veranda posts. I'm hanging wreaths on mine now (post-photo) made from vines and wound with hops and I've a grape winding its way up one.
