Pest Environment Southland
Widespread: Environment Southland spread throughout Southland looking for anything they can impose an infringement notice on, accurate or not. Elusive beasts if you are looking for the answer to a tricky question or re-questing funding. Found every-where from Bluff to Te Anau.
It is not a question of where they are, but where they are not. unless you are looking for answers or funding.
Problem: Where to begin? They have imposed ridiculous regulations and restrictions making it nearly impossible to run a pro-ductive farm.
They are fining farmers and transport operators for infringements they cannot prove.
They are out to revenue collect from hard-working people making a living doing what they have done for generations.
They are more likely to go home to a glass of wine on their Lazy-Boy than show remorse for the poor and irrational decisions they have made that day which impact on innocent people's livelihoods for years to come.
They get paid regularly regard-less of their actions and may even have a quota to meet, hence the ludicrous charges and regulations they pull from God-knows where.
Origin: Introduced from text-books in universities across the country with little or no practical experience, and no common sense.
Past Control: Younger and more aggressive Environment South-land officers were held in check by the older generation but the older generation is in decline while the younger generation in-creases creating a downwards

Your husband wrote a very good letter to the editor only last week, Sally. Did you not find that refreshing or truthful?
Oh come on RG! - any thinking person wouldn't see the need for it to be spelt out that the truth was being told about ES.
Your misinterpretation doesn't take away the fact that this is a fantastic letter.
