The place is infested with ducks
The Southland Times might be covering the issue in tomorrows edition. In the meantime, this is what the town is facing - an outbreak of ducks!

They only appear when the tide is low or there is no surf - what does that tell you.....
They're being put there by fiddler crabs?
Fiddler, that is one word for him, and as for having crabs, that is between you and him thank you very much
