National champions the polluters, disregards our grandchildren
"So widespread and so apparently nonchalant is the conviction that we might grow rich through oil and gas and coal that one can feel almost stupid for even suggesting that it is a course which should be eschewed in the interests of humanity. But when one looks seriously at what the science cannot avoid predicting it is not stupid to more than suggest, to insist rather, that we must begin to set a limit to fossil fuel exploitation. Most of what remains must be left where it is. That’s the big picture which the government is studiously avoiding and of which it must continue to be reminded for as long and as often as proves necessary."

Coal exploration is in hyper drive on the West Coast at present, 24hr a day drilling on the mountain behind town and some big holes planned for Buller.
Westport has the no.1 economy in NZ at present due to all that black stuff, and it looks as thought the Grey district is next.
It's not funny how quickly people are trying to forget about Pike river.
Money aye.
"Fritz Vahrenholt, one of Germany's earliest green energy investors, is not convinced that humanity is causing catastrophic global warming."
"For many years, I was an active supporter of the IPCC and its CO2 theory. Recent experience with the UN's climate panel, however, forced me to reassess my position. In February 2010, I was invited as a reviewer for the IPCC report on renewable energy. I realised that the drafting of the report was done in anything but a scientific manner. The report was littered with errors and a member of Greenpeace edited the final version. These developments shocked me. I thought, if such things can happen in this report, then they might happen in other IPCC reports too."

So, Fritz changes his mind as the wind changes. he'll change it again no doubt, going by his record so far.
:-)
Or could it be Fritz has seen through the propoganda? He seems far smarter than most.
Paranormal
Far smarter than most?
Yet he was a supporter, paranormal. It's curious, ain't it.
Pointless too.
So Robert, you aren't concerned by what looks like blatant corruption?
People being in denial is one thing, but people telling lies and corrupting what is supposed to be a scientific process is a whole another issue.
This is the problem, political ideologues are using climate change "science" for much more than addressing actual climate change, and that is just as serious a threat as what runaway climate change could be.
No. I don't believe there is blatant corruption where it counts in the climate change debate. On the fringes, yes. Amongst those who stand to lose from the changes proposed, yes, but with the scientists who say there's a major problem unfolding, no.
