Veolia takes over city contract
VEOLIA Water New Zealand gained operational responsibility for Invercargill's pipe works last Friday (June 1st) as the Invercargill City Council's (ICC) water and drainage contractor.
Acting Engineering Services Group manager Russell Keen said ICC announced in March that it had accepted the tender of Veolia Water to undertake the maintenance of the water and drainage pipes in Invercargill and Bluff for up to 10 years. The value of the contract ICC accepted was $3.4 million for a two year period.
Veolia takes over from the council's former subsidiary Bond Contracts.

And there starts the slide.....
It's already well under way, I propose.
Let's fight it tooth and nail, eh, Towack!
And your objection is???
Competitive tender to maintain the infrastructure won by a company not protected by the legacy of LATEs, seems at odds with your posts on democracy in Canterbury.
My post is without negative comment, Anonymous.
I'm apposed to Towack's 'slide'. That's what I'll fight.
