In a gooseberry bush, stone cold dead. I don't know why, but I suspect the mother may have suffered a mishap and was unable to return to the nest to keep these yunkers warm.
Nature has been our friend and provider for all of our lives, and occasionally we have abused her and usually paid a price. Now I respect her and she still provides without having to worry about what we might do, Rg!
