Act crazy

Was there ever a more ludicrous figure in New Zealand politics than Hillary Calvert of the Act Party.
Not since David Garrett anyway.
What a sad, sad situation.

I think we are witnessing the disintegration of the Act Party,

baby id theft, racism, Rodney Hide trying to convince New Zealander's that we need to let overseas (and Solid Energy which Act wants privatised) mining companies mine national parks... when the largest march Auckland has seen in decades last year made clear what a large section of NZ thought about strip mining our mountains and National Parks..

Selling the seabed and foreshore to foreign mining companies, and literally selling the sand from the beaches*.. is that Rodney's idea of a joke, Act is saying it wants to protect NZers access to the foreshore and seabed and yet it is silent on threats to it.

While jobs fail to appear, and GST and the ETS mean that tax cuts for the rich hurt the rest of New Zealand, which is having to deal with ever increasing living cost.. is beyond

Rodney Hide thinks mining national parks will help out of work New Zealander's or those in need? How will Australian and Chinese mining companies looting NZ resources help NZ?

http://www.nbr.co.nz/article/ironsand-could-produce-trillion-dollar-profit-elder-nn-86366 The "in-ground resource value" of New Zealand's extensive ironsand deposits could be between $1 trillion and $5 trillion, says state-owned energy company Solid Energy. Trans Tasman Resources Ltd (TTR), and overseas rivals are looking at exploiting New Zealand ironsands.

Dr Elder said Chinese companies had cheaper labour and capital and could do such projects faster.

Must be seeing the twilight of Act, and what an odd year it has been.

"Act is going for broke.

It has to do so, as it has been polling as low as 0.5 per cent." - NZ herald

the free market fundie fringe...

The certainly do seem to be trying desperately to be noticed. Calvert's mad claims about Maori were not only ill-informed, they were lacking in every redeemable feature - including humour. She could have at least said something funny. Maybe mentioned Hide. Or Garrett. Or Acts polling.
