Nice! We had Hector's dolphins in the river this afternoon. Got photos of them and the idiots who cross-crossed over top of them time and time again on their jet skiis! I feel a letter to the ed brewing!
Lots of Hectors dolphins here Robert, very inquisitive wee fellows too. They used to scare the wits out of me when I was out surfing! They would pop up for air not a metre away, all of a sudden you see this fin followed by a (reassuring) gasp for air. I am sure they do it on purpose!
@ Shunda...go for it!..a children's book featuring an evil dolphin-culling witch vs a white witch on the side of good..I'd buy it! As for not being a wordsmith, bollocks..Robert only attracts the higher echelons.
We were very lucky out here in Riverton at the weekend. A family of little Hector’s dolphins swam up the river to a spot under the bridge were they spent an hour or two feeding on fish that were coming up with tide. Plenty of locals enjoyed watching them from the bridge and a lot of photographs were taken. There were a couple of tiny calves with the parent dolphins and they kept in close to adults for protection. They were lucky too, the Hector’s dolphin family, that they weren’t hurt by the thoughtless jetskii riders who swept back and forward over the tiny family, trying to get a closer look.

You resisted the urge to say,
"I'm sure they do it on porpoise."
Well done Shunda - I'd never have been able to!
Alas Robert, I missed it entirely.
I fear I am somewhat duller than the amazing Mr Guyton and his word smithing ways.
Oooo! I feel a children's book coming on!

It's true!
I do have echelons here and judging from their comments, some of them are high!
Here's my Hector's letter, sent earlier today.

Better than pissed wouldn't you agree?
Sounds like a jet-ski culling witch is what's needed.
