Perhaps when left wing commentators like Chris Trotter refer to the misdeeds of the left wing as "good corruption" it helps to create (or actually propagates) the perfect storm we are possibly now experiencing.
I also find it hard to give legitimacy to suicide bombers, he doesn't.
Chris uses extreme cases to illustrate ideas that rdinary people have. His point that many/most New Zealanders appear to be passively accepting some very anti-democratic impositions from the National Government. I entirely agree with him.
It is interesting, this constant see-sawing that happens in politics, it is also incredibly discouraging.
I personally don't see the difference between the undemocratic actions of National and the undemocratic actions of Labour, they both tend to get drunk on the same drink!!
I think people accept it because there is not the same sense of community any more, everyone is the king of his OWN castle, so who cares about other castles?
That's why people vote Green :-)
