All-time Heat Records Broken or Tied June 28-30
There is no point in listing or even attempting to summarize all of the June monthly records set in the region from Missouri to Maryland and south to Georgia during the June 28-30 period. The 108° in St. Louis on June 28th was perhaps the most significant of those. What was truly astonishing was the number of all-time any month records that were broken or tied.
This is especially extraordinary since they have occurred in June rather than July or August when 95% of the previous all-time heat records have been set for this part of the country (unlike the Southwest where June is often the month that all-time heat extremes are recorded).

Once upon a time there was a weather station. This weather station enjoyed a wonderful life in a nice big field near a small town. Over the years, the town got bigger and bigger and closer and closer to the weather stations idyllic location.
The towns folk liked to make concrete buildings, concrete side walks and concrete multi laned highways. During the summer, all this concrete absorbed a tremendous amount of heat, so much heat in fact, that it started to show up in the weather stations readings!!
Some people thought this was indicative of catastrophic things! but the weather station new better, it new that his field had gone and the cool breeze across the wheat had been replaced by a hot fumy wind from all that concrete and all those motor vehicles.

There are none so blind. No matter. There's an adverse weather event coming your way soon, and then another and another... share the joy!
I'm really interested in this planet I live on, so interested in fact, that I want to see the truth in every issue and don't want to let those with a political agenda corrupt that process.
Global warming is happening, but we must look at the indicators that are reliable and not weather stations recording urban temperature shift due to urban development.
It is silly to look at a situation like this and say it is definitive proof of anything, because it isn't.

Yep, me too! That’s why it’s so frustrating that the political agenda of those whose only aim is to make money and damn the consequences for the world (and the all the species that live on it) has corrupted the processes that are needed to try and stop global warming.
The main stream media is controlled by the ‘business as usual’ corporates who don‘t want the voters to know the truth about the seriousness of the problem. A recent post on the climate progress website showed the Kardashians got 40x more media coverage that ocean acidification. You try to argue about the validity of temperature of temperature records, got any comment on ocean pH?
I've said it before Viv, I personally think it is entirely likely we are stuffing the atmosphere (like everything else on the planet), I am just free of the Green political agenda which I personally don't differentiate from that of the corporates in its destructive potential to a sustainable existence on mother earth.

I am open to education.
I was also talking in a global context, but in saying that, some of "the Greens" current MP's show a certain adherence to some quite antiquated ideals and outdated concepts.
Others are not so bad and occasionally quite good.
I feel that their current list procedure will cause internal collapse much past 10% of the vote though, it just won't work much beyond that.

Shunda is well onto it. The Greens have passed the tipping pioint of public sympathy and just like communism before it, Gorebull Warmening is withering as a political agenda. It's just the devout don't believe it has been given a fair go yet.
