The temperature inside my tunnel house this afternoon is 'scorching', so much so that a blackbird who called in to steal sprouting seeds, all but succumbed to the heat and was seen lolloping around drunkenly, all trippy and ga-ga, looking as a newt and courting death by dehydration. Despite his/her dilemma, it was funny. I did catch and release though, as I'm soft-hearted, despite knowing that the beaky thing will soon be back stealing my red currants.
A little later, I found its calling card on the bonnet of my car.
Some creatures just don't know the nice way to say thank you!
ReplyDeleteAt least he didn't peck my eyes out.
