It appears there are pears

And lots of them. The calm weather over spring gave the pollinators every chance to do their thing and they did, as evidenced by the heavy crops on all the plum, apple, apricot, peach and pear trees. I need to start preparing now for a harvest that promises to be the biggest ever.

Same here in Bannockburn. Little fruit everywhere including on my four pear trees planted 16 months ago. I have a little orchard with 29 different things all planted in the last six years

Sounds(and looks :-) great! I was in Bannockburn 3 weeks ago, looking around for interesting trees and gardens. Your golden crabapple shown on your blog looks wonderful! I've a Golden Hornet, but the fruits on yours are bigger than those. Brighter too.
